Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to hard work, dedication, and my ability to adapt and overcome any challenge that comes my way. Resilience is important to any evolving and growing professional. I also try to be around people who believe in me and communicate and collaborate for the benefit of everyone.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to always do my best work and to focus on being my best.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to pursue a career that not only brings you satisfaction but also challenges you to reach your full potential. Keep your eye on the future and be prepared to pivot.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Technology is bringing AI, remote work, and lack of interpersonal skills to the workplace. Offshore hiring has also lately become a challenge. It is my opinion that AI is making writers feel threatened in the workplace, and remote work hinders connecting with peers. As a result, there's faltering collaboration and unwilling teamwork. Instead, peers are busy looking out for themselves. This behavior is causing employers to look for cheaper labor, believing that there's no value in paying more. We need to reverse this trend, pushing through the challenges with onsite or hybrid work, turning on cameras during meetings, and restoring workplace socializing for employees.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In my personal life, I strive to stay active, travel, and read. Swimming is a passion of mine, and I complement it with other activities, including kayaking in the summer. Traveling keeps my perspective fresh, and resets my mind, especially when it is relaxing, outdoors, and in a comfortable climate. Reading is always a worthy hobby for writers. It keeps our own skills fresh. I read a variety of novels for personal reading. Professionally, I believe in hard work, a positive mindset, real collaboration, and respect for all employees. My personal hobbies always keep my life in balance and my mind clear. When work gets slow, I read professional association periodicals and the news. I also research areas of interest for the position I'm in.
